NYFW Day 5: Carolina Herrera spring-summer 2015

A very feminine collection was presented to us at Lincoln Center. Carolina has always been very pure and  delicate in the design of her collections. This time, she pays tribute to flowers for this spring-summer season. Fresh and bright colors are naturally being mixed with geometrical cuts, in the way Japanese do with origamis. It’s this mix of modernity and nature which is giving a new look to the silhouettes, much more modern and elegant. I loved the way she interpretated flowers as contemporary art. Colors were soft and shining like this yellow onto simple dresses, lines were embodying the woman, very symmetric. My favorite looks? The two last dresses with origamis cuts spreading all over the gown like petals of flowers applied onto the fresh flower print. Exceptional beauty. Hair were also inventively integrated in the overall outfits, straight and sculpted.
